Description: Here is a lovely painting by the talented Connecticut impressionist, Carl Sigfrid Ringius (1879-1950). This oil on canvas-board measures 16” x 20”; the frame is 20.5” x 24.5”. Signed lower left. I assume that this farm scene is in New England, where Ringius lived and worked after immigrating to the U.S. from Sweden in 1902. He was one of the founders of the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts in Hartford. His work is in the collection of the Smalands Museum in Sweden. Condition is very good. It is sharp and crisp, with bright colors. The painting was cleaned a few years ago by a professional art restorer, who also applied a couple of small touch-ups. Housed in a wonderful old Arts & Crafts frame. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions that come to mind. Thanks for looking!
