Honest Note about these thin mineral sections: My supplier is in fact specialised in preparing microscope slides from biological samples. As several of my valued clients have asked me about thin rock specimen, I asked my supplier to make them and these is the result of their first try. I can see they are not as good as their biological samples. I have then asked them to be checked by my consultant and was told although they are not as neat as they could be but the slides themselves are of reasonable quality. Then I began to sell the first two sets by auction starting from 50P. While all my buyers told me they are of reasonable quality, as good as the ones made by Open University. They are definite good enough up to undergraduate level. The pictures are in fact taken by one of my buyers, Mr. Richard Elliott. He told me these are not the best nor the worst of the slides, just about the middle of the range. I have to say my auctions did not go very well and I have lost a lot of money on these slides. Then I have renegotiated with my supplier and I am now selling them with a price lower than their costs. Please bear these in mind when buying.
