Description: Counter-culture magazine 'High Times' was first published FIFTY years ago by founder Thomas Forade. They were primarily a marijuana magazine, but for several years, they were about all drugs. After seeing the dangers of most hard drugs, they became (mostly) about pot. During those five decades of being published, 'High Times' spawned many imitators. Today we have three cannabis magazines, and a 'High Times' mag thrown in for good measure! First up is 'Skunk', and volume 7, issue number 2. No year stated. This is the fiftieth issue! 'Skunk' was first started in Quebec. 'Head' is up next, with volume 6, issue 6. Another cool Canadian marijuana magazine! Then it's on to 'Canabis Culture' magazine. Issue no. 71. From the summer of 2008. Editor and publisher is Marc Emery. I got a chance to meet Emery many years ago while in Vancouver. At the time, he said, America was trying to extradite him to the States. Which they did, and he served a prison sentence here. All three of these Canadian magazines copied 'High Times' in its style of articles, ads for seeds and paraphernalia, and pics of buds and plants. 'HT' and 'CC' have centerfolds, but 'Skunk' and 'Head' do not. I'm not sure if any of the three are still around (though I think 'Skunk' might be). But then there's the grandaddy of them all... I'll even throw in an issue of 'High Times' magazine, and the March 2016 issue. With the cover story on 'the best tasting buds on earth', and a fork full of just that on the cover!
