Description: VINTAGE FOLK ART ADVERTISEMENT HANDMADE DOLL. This 19” doll is made from cotton. Her pantaloons are made of heavier cotton and are actually a separate piece. She is dressed in them. Her apron is made from a chick feed sack sold by Samuel J. Heiney. I found a picture of one of his sacks and this is it. Heiney owned pet stores in Allentown PA in the 1930s. This would make her at least 100 years old. There are no discernible odors and actually is little worse for the wear (aside from being a little yellowing from age and what looks to be a water stain on the lower left corner of the apron) considering she is likely at least 100 years old I’d say she’s aged pretty well. She has a little metal heart shaped pin clasped onto the front of her dress. The picture of the pillow made from the feed sack is for reference only. It is not included in the auction.
