We professionally cleaned the nib assembly. While inspecting the pen we discovered the collared lip of the threaded nib collar is chipped. This is NOT the grip section itself, it is the collar that holders the nib / feed and threads into the grip section. It is NOT cracked vertically, it is merely the lip. We filled and wrote with the pen it does not leak. The issue is merely cosmetic. It is not visible and you would have not been aware of the detraction had we not disclosed. Being a threaded the collar, it can likely be removed and replaced however, it is factory adhered, we decided it was merely cosmetic and didn’t want to risk damaging the pen. Note the wear on the edges of the faux leather case. Aside from the above noted, the fountain pen is exceptionally clean, as new. Complete with shipping sleeve, box, scroll document, and converter.
