Description: Vtg Hand Made Lidded Tramp Art Wooden Box With Ewer & Fruit Design Early 1900s Click image to enlarge Description Offered for your consideration is a primitive wooden dresser box. The hinged lidded box features an ewer (pitcher) on the top and carved fruit on the face front (a pear) and sides (apples), done inTramp Art fashion. Made of a light solid wood, often tramp art pieces were created using old cigar boxes, and this piece is no exception, as some of the graphics of a cigar box still are present to the bottom. The box sits on four multi-layered feet, which are all still secure. Overall, the box is in good to very good 'as found' condition, showing some handling. There is a missing chip-carved piece to the lid (see pic #19). Also at some point, one of the lid hinges was relocated as a repair (see pics #15, 19 & 20). The box measures 12" wide x 4 3/4" tall x 5 3/4" from front to back. The decorative box has a weight of about 1 pound 2 ounces, and will ship at a weight of 2 pound 4 ounces, as it will be double boxed for protection.
