Washburn N4 “Leadbelly” Guitar - 1993 Experimental Demo- 1 of 1

Description: This is a one of a kind Washburn N4 “Leadbelly” guitar built in 1993 as an experimental/demo version of Nuno Bettencourt’s signature Washburn N4 guitar. It never went into production and remained in Nuno’s private guitar collection until he sold it in April of 2000 to Guitar Center in Boston Massachusetts. I purchased it shortly after and have been the only owner since. It has all of the classic Washburn N4 features including Washburn Floyd Rose, Tuners, Stephens Extended Cutaway, single volume knob, 3 way switch, Bill Lawrence L-500 bridge pickup and Seymour Duncan '59 neck pickup. The key feature of this unique guitar is its weight. Unlike the production model N4, this guitar’s body is made of mahogany and weighs a very heavy 9lbs 5.4oz. This is why it is called the “Leadbelly”. The guitar was autographed by Nuno Bettencourt when he sold it on April 15, 2000. The date and signature are on the back of the headstock. Other than guitar strings, this guitar has had no modifications since I purchased it. The guitar is in excellent condition for a 30 year old guitar. It has never been gigged with and lived in my smoke free home studio. It has never been on a guitar stand during the time I’ve owned it and was always stored in its case between uses. It does not have a back tremolo cover. This is how Nuno sold it, and I choose not to made any adjustments to the original condition. Incudes: - Guitar - Original Washburn hard shell case with writing on Duct Tape noting the make, model and “Leadbelly”. - 2 unopened sets of, the now out of production, 10-52 Dean Markley Nuno Bettencourt signature guitar strings. (Already strung with a 3rd set,) Empty paper sleeve included. Included in the photos is a screenshot of the seller receipt from Guitar Center showing it was personally owned and sold by Nuno Bettencourt. It was one of 4 guitars Nuno sold that day.
