"Waves of Care" Live at the 2018 Surf Guitar 101 Convention MusiCares Benefit

Description: The premier social networking website for surf music is Surf Guitar 101, established in 2006. Beginning in 2008, the annual Surf Guitar 101 Convention, held in Southern California, is an all-day event that hosts a dozen bands from all over the world. The 2017 and 2018 gatherings were recorded by three-time GRAMMY® Award winner, producer and engineer Mark Linett. Together with producer, musician, and author John Blair, the two created “Reverb Nation” in 2018 (Entrée Records ERCD2001), a compilation of bands that performed at the 2017 Convention. Linett and Blair have partnered once again to produce a limited-edition CD of the 2018 event. This time, however, 100% of the sale proceeds will go to benefit the MusiCares® Foundation. MusiCares® was established as a charity to help music professionals. Especially in this time of need, MusiCares® is also helping those in the music business whose lives have been directly affected by financial, medical, and personal health issues related to the pandemic. This new CD, “Waves Of Care,” features all 12 of the bands that performed at the Convention in 2018 who have kindly agreed to donate their performances to the MusiCares® mission, plus three bonus tracks from the 2017 show for a total of 27 tracks. There are surf bands from the United States, France, Denmark, Canada, and Italy represented here. And remember, 100% of sales proceeds, as well as 100% of all digital downloads, will be directed to MusiCares®. "Waves of Care" includes a whopping 79 minutes and 35 seconds of music (CD capacity is 80 minutes).
